About Europe Social

Europe Social is a social platform built for Europeans. All user data is stored exclusively in the EU. The platform provides automatic translation across 28 European languages, GPS-verified local communities organized from city to continent, cryptographically verified journalism, and real-time incident detection. Built on the AT Protocol — the same open, federated technology behind Bluesky — Europe Social gives users portable identity, full data ownership, and freedom from algorithmic manipulation. It is community-funded with no advertising and no venture capital. Europe Social is launching in Barcelona in 2026.

What makes Europe Social different

EU data sovereignty

Every byte of user data is stored on EU servers hosted by Hetzner in Germany. No data is replicated to or stored in the United States or any non-EU jurisdiction. This is not just GDPR compliance — it is structural data sovereignty.

28-language auto-translation

Posts are automatically translated across all 28 EU languages. A Finnish user and a Portuguese user can have the same conversation. No one is excluded from European public discourse because of the language they speak.

Verified on-the-ground journalism

Journalists and officials receive cryptographic verification. On-site attestation using device-level APIs proves that reporters are physically present where the story is happening. Proximity is truth.

Visual identity

Logo

The primary mark is the text logotype eur.so set in Inter Bold. For marketing contexts, use Europe Social as the full name. There is no icon or symbol — the name is the brand.

Colors

Black (#000000) and White (#FFFFFF). No other colors are used in the brand identity. Red (#FF0000) appears only during active emergencies within the app.

Typography

Inter is the sole typeface. All weights from Regular (400) to Bold (700). Available as a free download from Google Fonts.

Design rules

No rounded corners. No gradients. No decorative color. No emojis in interface chrome. The aesthetic is Swiss railway signage, not Silicon Valley startup.
