Copyright Policy

Respect for Copyright

Europe Social respects the intellectual property rights of others. We comply with the EU Copyright Directive (Directive (EU) 2019/790) and respond promptly to notices of alleged copyright infringement.

Reporting Copyright Infringement

If you believe that content on Europe Social infringes your copyright, please send a notice to legal@europesocial.org containing:

• A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed
• The URL or other specific location on Europe Social where the allegedly infringing material is located
• Your contact information (name, address, email, phone number)
• A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
• A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on behalf of the owner
• Your physical or electronic signature

How We Handle Notices

Upon receiving a valid copyright notice, we will:

• Review the notice for completeness and validity
• Remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing content
• Notify the user who posted the content
• Provide the user with information about how to submit a counter-notification

Counter-Notification

If you believe your content was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notification to legal@europesocial.org containing:

• Identification of the material that was removed and its former location
• A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification
• Your name, address, and phone number
• A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the competent court in your EU member state of residence
• Your physical or electronic signature

Upon receiving a valid counter-notification, we will forward it to the original complainant and restore the material within 10-14 business days unless the complainant notifies us of legal action.

Repeat Infringers

Europe Social will terminate the accounts of users who are repeat copyright infringers, in appropriate circumstances.

AT Protocol Federation

Europe Social is part of the AT Protocol network. Copyright claims regarding content hosted on other AT Protocol services should be directed to those services. We can only act on content hosted on or served through Europe Social's infrastructure.
